A prominent children's charity in Caerphilly is seeking a Family Support Practitioner to deliver therapeutic family support to children and their families. This role involves collaborating with professionals to address social and emotional needs, managing caseloads, and providing targeted interventions to promote wellbeing and resilience. A bit about the role
Action for Children's Gwent Family Intervention Team is a targeted early intervention therapeutic service for children, young people and their families aged 3-16 delivering across Gwent. Our work is underpinned by psychological therapies including attachment, systemic psychotherapy, and behavioural approaches.
Our Family Support Practitioners reduce the development of more entrenched mental health issues by delivering high quality therapeutic family support which can involve one to one support with parent and child, as well as whole family sessions.
The service offers needs-led interventions that are focused on each family being regarded as unique using formulation and curiosity approaches to help build an understanding of the context that the family live in. We aim to empower families to help support relationships, improve communication patterns, build on resilience, and explore healthy ways to communicate feelings and emotions.
