Term Time + 3 weeks
5 days per week 37.5 hours NJC 18 - 22
Pro-rata salary £28,426 - £30,375 per annum

Wargrave House School (ages 5-16) & Ascent College (ages ) operate a non-maintained special school and independent specialist college with an excellent reputation for delivering outstanding education and care to Autistic young people. We are the first national provider to receive Beacon status from the National Autistic Society.

As an autism-focused school, we seek a candidate with empathy, expertise, and organisational skills. They should have an understanding of autism, demonstrating compassion for learners and home settings. As a highly oversubscribed school, they should excel in the management competencies required to oversee admissions. This is a complex process that requires liaising at a highly professional level with multiple stakeholders.

Experience and proficiency in safeguarding procedures is crucial, including engaging with vulnerable families, formulating packages of support, policy implementation, recording and actioning as appropriate. Effective communication with stakeholders and external agencies is essential for building trust and fostering collaboration. Ultimately, the ideal candidate advocates for learners with autism and their families, prioritising their rights and holistic development.
