Are you a solicitor who believes justice shouldn't have a price tag? If you're looking for a role that offers purpose, impact, and genuine career development, not just billable hours, this is your chance to make a difference.

A values-driven law firm in Dorset is seeking a Family Law Solicitor to join their Legal Aid team. You\'ll be part of a small, ethics-led team doing work that truly matters.

Why This Role Stands Out
  • Mission-driven work supporting victims of domestic abuse and children at risk
  • Immediate impact with your own caseload and courtroom advocacy
  • Collaborative culture with experienced solicitors across departments
  • Poole\'s coastal lifestyle with beaches and cafes nearby
  • Community engagement through charity events and local initiatives
  • Supportive team where your voice matters and your work is valued
About the Role

You\'ll provide expert legal advice and representation to clients navigating domestic violence, child arrangements, and care proceedings. You\'ll work with social services, courts, and other agencies to secure the best outcomes for families.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Advising on family law matters under Legal Aid
  • Drafting protective legal documents and representing clients in court
  • Managing cases from instruction to resolution
  • Collaborating across departments to deliver holistic support
  • Upholding exceptional standards of client care
About You

We\'re looking for a solicitor with:

  • NQ to 2 years PQE in family law
  • A working knowledge of Legal Aid processes (or the drive to learn)
  • Strong advocacy and drafting skills
  • Resilience, empathy, and a commitment to social justice
  • A proactive, client-focused approach
  • Passion for courtroom advocacy over corporate negotiation
Benefits

In addition to a competitive salary, the firm offers:

  • Free on-site parking
  • Pension scheme
  • Supportive team culture
  • Professional development opportunities
  • Summer BBQs, Christmas parties, and social events
  • Access to Poole\'s coastal lifestyle and outdoor activities
  • Collaboration with experienced solicitors from a sister firm
Culture & Career Progression
