I’m looking for a kind, friendly, and understanding person to provide support with day-to-day life, encourage independence, and bring a reassuring presence. I’m a mum to two wonderful children, and my husband works away. My son is currently awaiting an SEN assessment, so understanding and awareness around this is important. We also share our home with a very friendly (and very sleepy!) pug. I live with OCD and anxiety, so sensitivity and awareness around these are essential. Job Description:

Weekly food shopping. Helping with paperwork and daily correspondence. Encouraging and supporting daily tasks, with reassurance to build confidence and independence. Spending time outdoors – sitting in the walled garden, visiting garden centres, or simply enjoying fresh air together. Batch cooking alongside me and helping plan weekly menus. Sending appointment reminder texts. Keeping the downstairs environment clear, tidy, and calm. Any other reasonable duties as requested.

Person specification

Essential:
Must hold a full, valid driving licence (so they can be added to my insurance and drive my car). Enjoys working with children. Comfortable working in a home with a pug. Someone with patience, compassion, and a positive attitude. The person I employ must have an understanding of the need for confidentiality in all areas of work, including total respect for my privacy.

Desirable: Previous experience in a similar role is preferred. Flexibility in working hours to accommodate the individual's needs.

Summary of terms and conditions

The pay rate for this position is £12.38 per hour for employed PAs and £14.94 per hour for self-employed PAs. Hours and times of work: 4 hours per week. Desired hours of work: Time discussed further at interview. The annual holiday entitlement for this position will be equivalent to the work I would normally expect to be done during 5.6 consecutive weeks.

The post is subject to the following: A satisfactory enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check, the cost of which will be covered by the employer. Satisfactory references from two referees, one of whom must be your current or last employer. Completion of a satisfactory probationary period of 6 months.
