Job description
Facilities & Maintenance Manager UK & Ireland

Our UK & Ireland operations need someone who can orchestrate maintenance across multiple sites whilst keeping everything compliant, efficient, and actually working. You'll report directly to the MD and become the go-to person for everything from preventative maintenance programmes to capital projects worth proper money.

What you’ll actually be doing

You’ll lead our maintenance team through the daily chaos of keeping production facilities compliant, operational, and efficient. That means building preventative maintenance programmes that actually prevent things breaking, not just tick boxes. You’ll wrangle contractors, manage the expectations of regulators, and translate complex technical headaches into plain English for the management team.

The capital programme sits with you too — spotting when equipment needs replacing before it becomes a crisis, building business cases that stack up, and delivering projects on time and budget (including our annual ESOS reporting, because you own that!).

Health and safety compliance runs through everything. CAA regulations, permit procedures, risk assessments — you’ll own it all whilst keeping everyone safe and the business legal.

You’ll need
  • Real experience managing maintenance in a production environment where downtime actually costs money. You've run preventative maintenance programmes before and they worked. You've managed teams, juggled budgets, and delivered projects without the wheels coming off.
  • Technical chops matter here – ideally formal training in electrical or mechanical engineering, plus practical knowledge of oil, gas, and HVAC. You understand H&S and food hygiene regulations because you've lived them, not just read about them.
  • You’re analytical enough to spot patterns in failure data, diplomatic enough to negotiate with contractors, and clear‑headed enough to explain it all to people who just want their kit working.
The person we’re after
  • Someone who rolls their sleeves up. You’re proactive, not reactive. Numbers don’t scare you — spreadsheets and MS Project are tools, not torture.
  • You can talk to engineers in the morning and executives in the afternoon without switching personality.
  • Most importantly, you’re the kind of person who sees a problem and thinks “I can fix that” rather than “whose fault is this?”
