Job summary

A leading engineering recruitment firm in the UK is seeking a Mechanical Site / Facilities Engineer to ensure high-quality services within the production department. This role involves maintaining safety and performance standards for equipment on-site. The ideal candidate must have a minimum of 5 years in mechanical maintenance engineering and relevant qualifications such as NVQ3 or HNC. Mechanical Site / Facilities Engineer

To provide high quality and on time services for the production department that requires engineering specific knowledge and skills. Ensure that all equipment on the Preston site is maintained to the highest standards relating to safety, efficiency & performance for use by the operations department.

Responsibilities
  • To ensure all equipment is in a safe, compliant & serviceable condition to maintain & enhance performance of all machinery within the corrugating & facilities services.
  • Reduce engineering downtime, respond rapidly to tõme failures & breakdowns.
  • Undertake projects and assist with all on‑site installations.
  • To always keep open and clear lines of communication with management and fellow colleagues.
  • To undertake, develop & improve planned maintenance schedules.
  • To prioritise work within the engineering department & deploy resources ismciably.
  • To identify training needs or ‘weak spots’ within the department.

  • Reduce mechanical and electrical downtime per machine per day and month.
  • All maintenance tasks to be undertaken, investigated and completed where possible.
