Facilities Engineer - Manufacturing Site

Belfast

Salary: £35,000 - £40,000

Hours: Monday to Friday, day shift with early finish on Fridays

The Role

We are seeking an experienced Facilities Engineer to join our team at a leading manufacturing site in Belfast. This role is critical in managing and maintaining site facilities, plant services, and systems, while driving improvements and cost reductions. You will play a key part in ensuring statutory compliance, supporting sustainability initiatives, and enhancing operational efficiency across the site.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the management and maintenance of site facilities, including electrical, mechanical, fire safety, cranes, forklifts, and other plant equipment.
  • Coordinate statutory inspection contracts and ensure full compliance with legislative requirements.
  • Manage and monitor service contracts (e.g. water, compressors, heating, waste management, equipment calibration).
  • Conduct risk assessments, identifying and addressing safety and environmental hazards.
  • Liaise with suppliers and government agencies regarding audits, permits, reporting, or grants.
  • Develop and implement strategies to reduce energy consumption, minimise waste, and drive environmental performance.
  • Prepare technical specifications, evaluate tenders, and present capital expenditure proposals to senior management.
  • Contribute to internal audits, continuous improvement projects, and efficiency initiatives.
About You
  • Proven experience in facilities, maintenance, or engineering within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Strong knowledge of statutory compliance, health & safety, and environmental regulations.
  • Excellent problem-solving, organisational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, liaise with external contractors, and deliver cost-effective solutions.
  • Proactive, safety-conscious, and committed to continuous improvement.
