External Affairs Operations Support Role

About this role

We are creating a new Operational Support role for the UK External Affairs. This role will play an important part in handling and administering key internal processes, external engagement, and risk management activities across External Affairs. You will provide support to leaders and teams within the department to ensure they can deliver the highest level of service to the business, engaging effectively with external stakeholders while maintaining strong governance.

What you'll do
  • Administration and engagement for trade association relationships, including UK Finance.
  • Support with partnerships and community events – engagement coordination and attendance.
  • Organise and manage events, including scheduling programmes, liaising with external guests, and managing supplies.
  • Assist team members with writing submissions to consultations, trade associations, and awards.
  • Support horizon scanning and use of communication tools.
  • Administrative support for Regulatory Relations, including regulatory filings and reporting with FCA.
  • Administrative support for speaker requests and background checks.
  • General administrative support including managing POs and invoices.
What we're looking for
  • Experience providing effective operational or administrative support in a large team.
  • Confidence with data entry and extraction.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and confidence in speaking with diverse external stakeholders.
  • Background knowledge of financial regulation and government policy is preferable.
  • Ability to identify and implement innovative operational and process improvements.
  • High level of integrity and discretion given the sensitive nature of the work.
  • Organisational skills, particularly in handling and recording large volumes of data using spreadsheets.
  • Experience using Google Sheets is preferable.
  • Adaptability to meet the challenges of an unpredictable and continually evolving environment and workload.

This is a permanent position based in our London office.

We have a hybrid working model that gives you flexibility to work from our offices and from home.

We are based in our London office 3 days a week (Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays).
