The Clinical Prescribing Practitioner will be the first point of contact for patients with all types of health problems. They will make decisions and apply appropriate interventions, in the patient’s home or at the surgery. Responsibilities include initial history taking, clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment and evaluation of care. The post-holder will work autonomously within Practice, NMC and HCPC policies, protocols and guidelines, demonstrating safe clinical decision-making, high levels of critical thinking and holistic practice. The role requires independent action while maintaining continual access to a GP for advice and support as necessary.
