Overview

Role

We are currently seeking an Experienced Primary Teaching Assistant to join the team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for working with children and a desire to help them succeed academically and socially. You will be supporting children across the primary phase, providing both 1:1 and group support.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the teacher in delivering lessons across a range of subjects, including English, Maths, and Science.
  • Provide 1:1 and small group support to students, particularly those who may need additional help.
  • Assist in the preparation and delivery of lessons, ensuring materials and resources are ready for class.
  • Help manage classroom behaviour, ensuring a positive and productive learning environment.
  • Track and monitor pupil progress, providing feedback to the teacher as needed.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom atmosphere that encourages student engagement and learning.
Qualifications
Essential
  • Experience working as a Primary Teaching Assistant in the last 2 years within a UK primary school.
  • Ability to adapt to different classroom settings and support a diverse range of students.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Passion for working with children and helping them achieve their best.
  • Good knowledge of primary school curriculum and classroom management techniques.
Desirable
  • A relevant qualification (e.g., CACHE Level 2/3) but not essential.
  • Experience working with students with additional learning needs (e.g., SEND).
  • Familiarity with intervention programmes (e.g., phonics, literacy/numeracy support).
  • A patient, proactive, and enthusiastic approach to supporting children in their learning.
