Job summary

A construction firm in the United Kingdom is searching for an Estimator to join their team. In this hybrid role, the ideal candidate will have over 5 years of experience in a similar estimating or pre-construction role. The responsibilities include producing accurate tenders, collaborating with various stakeholders, and managing multiple tenders to ensure submission deadlines are met. Candidates should hold relevant qualifications and possess strong numerical and organizational skills. Training in modular construction will be provided if necessary.

Qualifications

• At least 5 years' experience in a similar estimating or pre-construction role.
• Familiarity with JCT D&B and NEC3 contracts is advantageous.
• Ability to work across early project stages from PCSA through to contract award.

Responsibilities

• Produce accurate tenders, cost plans and supporting pricing documentation.
• Liaise with clients, suppliers and subcontractors throughout the pre‑construction phase.
• Prepare contractor proposals aligned with design information and employer requirements.
• Work collaboratively with pre‑construction teams to shape logistics and delivery strategies.
• Manage multiple tenders simultaneously while meeting key submission deadlines.
• Review scope, risks, and commercial considerations to ensure clarity in each bid.
• Interpret drawings, schedules and specification documents to support accurate measurement.
• Maintain well-organised documentation and ensure data is kept up to date.

Experience, Skills & Qualifications

• Strong numerical ability with up‑to‑date understanding of construction rates.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and estimating software packages.
• Familiarity with JCT D&B and NEC3 contracts (advantageous).
• Ability to work across early project stages from PCSA through to contract award.
• Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise multiple tenders.
• Knowledge of modular construction beneficial, but full training can be provided.
