A leading construction recruitment firm in Gravesend is seeking an experienced Estimator to prepare tenders and cost valuations for enabling works packages. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in pricing projects over £5M, hold a construction-related degree, and demonstrate stability in their career. Our privately owned client is a leading name within the enabling works industry with a group annual turnover in excess of £150M. They undertake technical civil engineering projects throughout the UK with values ranging up to £10M, and their services include demolition, basement construction, remediation, earthworks, civils, and concrete works. Their strong reputation for completing challenging projects has been built on delivery and trust. Having a low staff turnover, this specialist subcontractor, who also operate as a principal contractor on the majority of their projects, rarely recruits and this opportunity has arisen purely due to company expansion. Due to continued growth and a healthy pipeline of work, the client is recruiting permanently for an experienced Estimator. You will report directly to the Director and will be responsible for putting together tenders, project costings and valuations for general enabling works packages throughout the South East, valued up to £10M.

To be considered for this opportunity, you should have proven success pricing enabling works packages valued in excess of £5M in the UK, gained while working for a specialist subcontractor or main contractor. You must hold a construction industry degree or professional qualification, have a good understanding of NEC and JCT standard forms of contract, and possess excellent IT skills. As this is a permanent role, you should demonstrate stability of employment by having held each previous appointment for a minimum of 2 years.
For this permanent opportunity, the salary is targeting £65,000 – £75,000 per annum, depending on experience and suitability. A generous package includes a car allowance, private health care, and enrollment in the pension scheme.
