About the Post

We are looking to appoint an Estates Support Officer to join our friendly and professional Twynham Learning Core Services (‘Head Office’) team. Twynham Learning is a multi‑academy trust based in the BCP (Bournemouth, Christchurch & Poole) area. Our trust currently consists of Christchurch Infant School, Christchurch Junior School, Stourfield Infant School, Stourfield Junior School, Poole High School, Twynham School, Twynham Sixth Form, The Grange School and Twynham Primary School, plus Bournemouth Bay Teacher Training Partnership (SCITT), The School Sport Partnerships (SSPs) and CPD provision through Two Rivers Institute (TRI).

We are looking for an outstanding individual who will relish the opportunity to:

  • Lead estates operations across our schools ensuring the provision of warm, safe, dry and welcoming environments for teaching and learning.
  • Coordinate compliance and maintenance activities across all our schools, with oversight of soft facilities management services (including cleaning) and delivery of estates projects that uphold our commitment to safety, sustainability and excellence.
  • Work closely with our Caretakers, Headteachers, School Business Managers and the Core Services team to foster collaboration, ensure operational resilience, improve efficiency and effectiveness and promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement across our estate.
  • Deputise for the trust’s Estates Manager as required, providing leadership and continuity across the wider estates function.
  • Promote and safeguard the welfare of children and young people in accordance with our Safeguarding and Child Protection policies.

Who We Are Looking For

We would love to hear from you if you:

  • Have GCSEs at grade A‑C in English and Maths (or equivalent qualifications/grades)
  • Have strong technical knowledge of estates and facilities management with practical experience in maintenance, compliance and project delivery
  • Understand key statutory compliance requirements in education settings
  • Have experience of working with contractors including procurement and performance monitoring
  • Are professional and positive, upholding high standards in all activities with a key focus on safety and sustainability
  • Have a collaborative mindset, excellent communication and interpersonal skills and strong organisational and problem‑solving skills
  • Are proficient in IT systems to support record‑keeping and reporting
  • Have a proactive approach to managing both planned and reactive tasks
  • Hold a full UK driving licence and have access to a vehicle suitable and insured for business use
  • Are willing to work flexibly, including out‑of‑hours support in response to emergencies or operational needs.
