Job summary

A leading consultancy firm is seeking an ESG Consultant in Newcastle-upon-Tyne to support public sector clients in achieving ESG commitments. This contract role focuses on ensuring compliance and driving improvements in sustainability practices. Ideal candidates will have proven ESG experience and excellent stakeholder management skills. Salary is £300 - £350 per day.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in ESG, sustainability, or corporate responsibility.
  • Strong knowledge of ESG frameworks (GRI, TCFD, UN SDGs).
  • Background in public sector or consultancy projects (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary ESG liaison between client, vendors, and the client.
  • Assess and monitor supplier ESG commitments against agreed standards.
  • Develop and deliver ESG action plans, KPIs, and reporting frameworks.

ESG Consultant | Sustainability | Contract | 6-12 Months | £300 - £350 per day

PT Renewables is looking for an ESG Consultant to support a our IT client in delivering on Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) commitments for a multi-year public sector client.

This role is all about ensuring ESG compliance, driving continuous improvement, and building strong stakeholder relationships - a chance to make a real impact in a high-profile programme.

  • Act as the primary ESG liaison between client, vendors, and the client.
  • Assess and monitor supplier ESG commitments against agreed standards
  • Develop and deliver ESG action plans, KPIs, and reporting frameworks
  • Track and report progress against ESG objectives, ensuring audit-ready evidence
  • Identify and drive continuous improvement opportunities across ESG performance

About you:

  • Proven experience in ESG, sustainability, or corporate responsibility
  • Strong knowledge of ESG frameworks (GRI, TCFD, UN SDGs)
  • Background in public sector or consultancy projects (preferred)
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Understanding of supply chain ESG, governance, and audit processes
