The Opportunity:

This firm's Environmental Law team is widely recognised for its strength and depth, advising clients at the highest level on the full spectrum of environmental regulation. Acting for major corporates, developers, utilities, public sector organisations and regulators, the team delivers pragmatic and commercially focused solutions to some of the most challenging issues in the sector.

With ongoing growth and client demand, the team is looking to appoint an Environmental Lawyer to play a key role in supporting its thriving practice. You will work closely with a highly ranked Partner who is recognised in both The Legal 500 and Chambers & Partners for their expertise in environmental law. This offers an excellent opportunity to develop your career alongside one of the sector's leading practitioners.

The Role will involve advising across a wide range of environmental law matters, including:

- Waste regulation, including complex end-of-waste matters.
- Environmental permitting for waste and energy operations, including defence of enforcement actions.
- Pollution incidents, contaminated land, water resources, climate change law and environmental information.
- Risk management, compliance and regulatory defence, often working alongside the firm's specialist Regulatory team.
- Real estate and corporate transactional support, advising on environmental aspects of major deals.

This is a genuinely varied role, offering the chance to advise on cutting-edge projects in sectors such as clean energy, infrastructure, manufacturing, housebuilding, and commercial development.

Candidate Requirements:

- At least 4 years' PQE in environmental law, gained in a recognised law firm or in-house team.
- Experience advising on environmental permitting, contaminated land, waste and emissions, regulatory compliance, and criminal defence matters.
- A proactive and enthusiastic approach, with a genuine interest in supporting clients across the full breadth of environmental regulation.
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative national team.
