Job summary

A local government authority in Essex is seeking an Environmental Health Officer for an initial 3-month contract. The role involves responsibilities like HMO licensing, housing enforcement, and responding to nuisance complaints. Job description

Our client Braintree District Council is currently looking for an Environmetnal Health Officeron an initial 3-month basis.

You will be covering
  • HMO licensing
  • HHSRS inspections
  • Housing enforcement
  • Respond to complaints of nuisance, rodent complaints, filthy and verminous premises, and drainage issues
  • Serving notices.
Requirements
  • Degree in Environmental Health or equivalent (i.e. Diploma in Environmental Health)
  • Registered with Environmental Health Registration Board
  • Understand the needs of all customers with respect to the various activities that are regulated by the team
  • Experience of securing regulatory compliance though various means
  • HMO licensing and HHSRS enforcement experience
  • Statutory nuisance investigation experience
  • The ability to interpret and respond to reports relating to planning consultations for various matters, in particular acoustic, odour and contamination surveys and remediation plans.
  • Experienced in complaint investigations relating to vermin, filthy and verminous premises and drainage.
