Egypt Education Platform is seeking a dynamic and motivated English Teacher/Secondary Deputy for the academic year 2026-2027 at our esteemed GEMS British International School in Madinaty. This dual role combines teaching excellence in English with leadership responsibilities, offering a unique opportunity for experienced educators to impact both students and faculty.

The position is based in Cairo, Egypt, and is ideal for those with a strong background in teaching English who are ready to take on a leadership role within the Secondary department.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teach English to Secondary students with a focus on developing critical thinking, communication skills, and a passion for literature.
  • Serve as a Deputy, supporting the Head of Secondary in implementing school policies, fostering a positive learning environment, and coordinating departmental activities.
  • Assist in curriculum planning and development, ensuring alignment with the British Curriculum and may involve mentoring other English teachers.
  • Conduct assessments to evaluate student progress, providing timely feedback and support to facilitate their academic growth.
  • Maintain effective communication with students, parents, and staff to enhance the educational experience within the school community.
  • Promote engagement in English language and literature through extracurricular activities, such as literary clubs, drama productions, and writing competitions.
  • Actively participate in professional development opportunities and encourage a culture of continuous improvement among teaching staff.
  • Bachelor’s degree in English, Education, or a related field.
  • Significant teaching experience in English at the Secondary level, with a minimum of 3 years preferred.
  • Previous leadership experience, such as a Deputy role or department head, is highly desired.
  • In-depth knowledge of the British Curriculum alongside strong English language and literature skills.
