Salary: £168-£232 per day

TeacherActive is working with a well-known mainstream secondary school in the Ollerton area, Nottinghamshire. The school have high aspirations and offer fantastic support to all of its staff.

Role

The school is looking to take on an English teacher starting in February 2026 on a long-term, full-time cover for the whole 2026 calendar year. The successful applicant will be working across both Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4, including exam preparation for GCSEs. This role will also include some Drama lessons. The role will be paramount in helping students achieve excellent results in the subject, whilst following and implementing the schemes of learning.

Responsibilities

• The successful English Teacher will be: A graduate with qualified teacher status.
• An outstanding teacher in English, with a strong teaching record.
• Relevant qualifications (both formal and through appropriate experience) to meet the challenge of the appointment.
• Excellent in-depth knowledge of the place of the English curriculum in the development of young people and of the place of within the wider curriculum.
• An understanding of the importance of a rigorous reading strategy to ensure students\' confidence and reading fluency.
