English Graduate Teaching Assistant | Year 1 | January Start

Do you have an English degree and a soft spot for phonics, picture books, and the magic of early learning?

This welcoming Primary School in Denton is looking for a proactive, enthusiastic graduate to support a lovely Year 1 class. If you’re thinking about a future in teaching (or just love working with kids), this could be the perfect launchpad.

What you’ll be doing:

  • Supporting pupils with early reading and writing
  • Helping the class teacher prep, plan and deliver fun, focused lessons
  • Providing one-to-one or small group support, especially during literacy time
  • Jumping in with creativity, curiosity and a calm head when things get lively (as they often do in Year 1!)

Who we’re looking for:

  • An English graduate with a real interest in education
  • Someone who’s proactive, positive, and ready to roll up their sleeves
  • Any experience working with children (in schools, clubs, mentoring etc.) is a big plus
  • You don’t need to be qualified, just committed, kind, and keen to learn

Why this school? This school is a friendly, inclusive primary where staff are supportive and every child’s progress matters. You’ll feel part of the team from day one, and you’ll gain real insight into life in the classroom.

Training boost: Not Thrive trained yet? No worries, we’ll enrol you for free. It’s a fantastic skill that schools love, especially in KS1.

Why Protocol Education?

  • Weekly pay through PAYE (no umbrella hassle)
  • Access to FREE training and CPD
