A leading dairy cooperative in Lockerbie is seeking a Multi-Skilled Engineer to maintain and improve state-of-the-art dairy equipment. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in both mechanical and electrical engineering in manufacturing environments. You will be involved in continuous improvement and respond to breakdowns. Qualifications

What you’ll do

This is an opportunity to work at one of Arla’s largest dairies with state-of-the-art equipment and strong career development. As a Multi-Skilled Engineer, you will respond to breakdowns, participate in planned preventative maintenance, and be involved in continuous improvement (CI) and project work. You’ll contribute to Arla’s continued growth. Responsibilities include maintaining equipment such as milk pasteurisation, homogenisers, separators, filers, slicers, cartoners, bottle labellers, cappers, packers, blow moulding machines, weighers, flow wrappers, shrink wrappers, trolley packers, palletisers and depalletisers, conveyor lines (chain, spiral), robots (Kuka), vision systems, Spectrum TX rejection systems and OEMs such as Siemens, Krones, Tetra Pak, SPX Flow, ISOMA, Hueft, Nepas, Alpla & Grunwald.

What you’ll need
  • Ambition & drive
  • Strong experience as a multiskilled engineer (shift engineer/maintenance engineer/engineering technician)
  • Experience in mechanical and electrical engineering within manufacturing, production and process environments
  • HNC or apprentice trained or proven experience in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
  • Experience with fast-moving machinery, pumps, valves, inverter drives, sensors, relays, PLCs (Siemens), site services (steam generation, chilled water systems, compressors, processes), CIP systems
  • Computer literate – SAP, Microsoft Office, SCADA, Trend systems, HMIs
  • Time served as a Multi-Skilled Engineer in a manufacturing environment
