Job summary

A leading food manufacturer in Leyland is seeking an Engineering Project Manager to oversee various engineering projects as part of their strategic growth plan. You will be responsible for managing project budgets, ensuring safety compliance, and coordinating teams and contractors. Ideal candidates will have a degree in engineering, significant project management experience, and strong communication skills. Job description

Opportunity to join an established, profitable food manufacturer going through a period of sustained growth and investment. You’ll be a key part of the engineering projects team in a role offering plenty of variety and challenge as the site delivers its five-year strategic plan.

About the Role

Part of a wider group, this is flagship site, where new equipment, technology, and processes are trialled being rolled out.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Delivering a range of engineering projects, from small scale upgrades through to major installations.
  • Overseeing budgets, financial controls, reporting, documentation, training and final project handover.
  • Coordinating internal teams and managing external contractors and suppliers to ensure successful delivery.
  • Ensuring all work is carried out safely, ensuring compliance with all HSE standards and practices.
About You
  • Proven experience delivering engineering projects, ideally in manufacturing, with budgets in excess of £1m.
  • Degree qualified in an engineering discipline (preferred) with a recognised project management qualification (APM, PRINCE2, PMP).
  • Strong CDM knowledge, and proficiency in CAD and planning tools such as MS Project.
  • Strong communication skills, able to collaborate with and influence key stakeholders.
