Job summary

A leading recruitment agency is seeking an experienced Engineering Assessor / Lecturer to enhance their Apprenticeship program in Canterbury. This role involves assessing Engineering apprenticeship portfolios and delivering dedicated teaching to apprentices. Candidates should possess a Level 3 qualification or higher in Engineering along with expertise in CAD and principles of Engineering Design. The position promises a dynamic environment for those passionate about mentoring the next generation of engineers.

Responsibilities

  • Assess completed Level 3 Engineering apprenticeship portfolios.
  • Support timely progression of apprentices to Gateway and EPA.
  • Contribute to meeting awarding body and EQA requirements.
  • Deliver teaching to Engineering apprentices.
  • Provide one-to-one support sessions.
  • Prepare lessons and learning materials.
  • Support apprentices on the Engineering Design and Development Apprenticeship Standard (Level 3).

The Opportunity

Our client is looking for an experienced Engineering Assessor / Lecturer to join their Apprenticeship provision and support the delivery of high-quality learning and assessment. This role offers the chance to work closely with apprentices, helping them progress successfully through Gateway and EPA while contributing to the smooth running of assessment processes. It's an ideal opportunity for someone who enjoys teaching, mentoring, and shaping the next generation of skilled engineering professionals.

Key Responsibilities

The role will be split across assessment and teaching duties:

  • Assess completed Level 3 Engineering apprenticeship portfolios
  • Support timely progression of apprentices to Gateway and EPA
  • Contribute to meeting awarding body and EQA requirements
  • Work alongside existing assessment and quality teams
  • Deliver teaching to Engineering apprentices
  • Provide one-to-one support sessions
  • Prepare lessons and learning materials
  • Support apprentices on the Engineering Design and Development Apprenticeship Standard (Level 3)

  • Contract may be extended depending on ongoing requirements

The role is subject to Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) checks and ideally you will be on the update service, however we will cover the cost of a new DBS if this is not the case.
