Overview

To provide administrative support in line with the Trust policies, guidelines, and departmental protocols, responding to patient and staff queries in a professional, courteous, and timely manner.

Manage patient admissions and discharges on Careflow and Medilogik and updating records throughout the day to ensure accuracy and to ensure medical notes are prepped and available for all patients attending the Endoscopy Department.

Welcome patients and relatives in a friendly, courteous manner.

Main duties of the job
  • Provide an efficient and professional reception and clerical service to support the smooth running of the department.
  • Welcome patients and relatives in a friendly, courteous manner, ensuring that information is communicated clearly and in a way they can understand.
  • Answer telephone enquiries promptly and politely, taking and relaying messages accurately and appropriately.
  • Email patient reports to GP surgeries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Liaise effectively with the Booking Team, Nurses, Doctors, and other members of the departmental team to obtain and share information accurately, ensuring the delivery of a high-quality patient service.
  • Respond to case note requests efficiently, maintaining strict confidentiality and adhering to the Freedom of Information Act 2000 and the Data Protection Act 1998/1999.
  • Manage patient admissions and discharges on Careflow and Medilogik and updating records throughout the day to ensure accuracy.
  • Cashing up of pre-assessment appointments.
  • Creating and cashing up medical query line appointments.

Essential criteria
