A healthcare organization is seeking Band 2 receptionists to join the Emergency Services team. Your role will involve patient registration, booking appointments, and performing various administrative duties within a busy reception environment. The ideal candidate must excel in customer service, multitask effectively, and work under pressure, including nights and weekends. This position is based in Plymouth with multiple site responsibilities, contributing to a dedicated healthcare team.
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our expanding team of Band 2 receptionists within the Emergency Services at UHP.
Assisting in the administration for the reception areas in the Emergency Services this post requires keyboard skills, excellent customer service experience and the ability to multitask whilst working in a busy, fast‑paced environment.
The ability to observe patient confidentiality and maintain a professional manner is essential. The post holder will be required to work with minimal supervision and have the ability to work under extreme pressure, exercising sound judgement and decision‑making skills while working as part of a team or independently.

This role will involve working across multiple sites including Derriford Hospital, the Cumberland Centre, Tavistock and Kingsbridge.

Preference will be given to internal Trust staff, as well as Priority and "At Risk" status, including NHS At Risk staff throughout Devon who can display recent relevant experience as dictated by the Person Specification.
The post holder will be responsible for the registration of patients, booking patient appointments and any other administration duties. The reception is a 24‑hour service and the post‑holder will be expected to cover shifts which will include evenings, nights and weekends.
To work flexibly in a fast‑changing environment providing an efficient personal service to patients, relatives and clients as part of the Emergency Services Multi‑Disciplinary Team.
Promote the smooth running of the Department by maintaining effective communication within the Trust.
