Job summary

A leading technology business in Horsham is seeking an Electronics Test Engineer to ensure the accuracy of results and diagnose faults on electro-optical-mechanical components. The successful candidate will be responsible for testing and contributing to the development of high-quality products in a collaborative environment. This role requires strong hands-on electrical testing expertise, ability to write and execute test plans, and familiarity with technical drawings. Competitive salary of £35,000 - £40,000 per annum offered.

Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of testing electrical and electro-mechanical systems.
  • Competent in reading technical drawings, wiring diagrams, and PCB schematics.
  • Ability to support wider production and quality teams where needed.

Responsibilities

  • Carry out Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs) using standard test equipment.
  • Assist in the creation of comprehensive test procedures and FAT documentation.
  • Fault-find across a wide range of electromechanical equipment.

Electronics Test Engineer

Location:Horsham, West Sussex

Salary:£35,000 - £40,000 per annum

Hours:Full-time, Monday to Friday, onsite

The Role We are seeking a skilledTest Engineerto join the Test Department of a leading technology business in Horsham. Reporting to the Test Engineering Manager, you will be responsible for testingelectro‑optical‑mechanical components, sub-assemblies, and complete systems, ensuring accuracy of results, diagnosing faults, and supporting the wider engineering team in resolving production or design issues.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone with strong hands‑on electrical/electro‑mechanical test expertise to contribute to developing high-quality, cutting‑edge products in a collaborative engineering environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry outFactory Acceptance Tests (FATs)using standard test equipment (power supplies, oscilloscopes, digital multi-meters).
  • Assist in the creation of comprehensivetest procedures and FAT documentation.
  • Fault-find across a wide range of electromechanical equipment.
  • Communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical colleagues.
  • Ensure compliance with quality processes,ISO9001 standards, and company policies.
  • Maintain accurate test documentation and reporting.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of test processes and facilities.
  • Support field service activities when required.
  • Maintain a safe, clean, and well‑organised workshop and office environment.
Skills & Experience
Essential
  • Strong knowledge oftesting electrical and electro‑mechanical systems.
  • Ability towrite and execute test plans and FATsfor new product launches.
  • Competent in readingtechnical drawings, wiring diagrams, and PCB schematics.
  • Ability to support widerproduction and quality teamswhere needed.
  • HNC or equivalent qualification in Electronics Engineering.
  • Hands‑on experience inmanual testing and integration.
  • Computer literate with experience inMicrosoft Word & Excel.
Desirable
  • PCB testing and fault‑finding experience.
  • Familiarity withdigital camera and video protocols.
  • Knowledge ofautomated test software.
  • Awareness ofcommunication protocols and networking.
  • Experience inPLC programming, CAD packages.
