Job summary

A recruitment agency is seeking an Electronic Test Engineer for a role in Ripon. The candidate will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing electronic equipment. Ideal candidates will have at least 2 years of experience in component-level repairs and good soldering skills. Overview

Electronic Test Engineer

Ripon

Electronic Test engineer required for an interesting and challenging role responsible for diagnosing and rectifying faults on a range of electronic equipment.

The ideal candidate will have knowledge of both analogue and digital technologies and have the ability to fault find and repair to component level on legacy products that often have limited circuit diagrams and no set test procedure.

Responsibilities
  • Diagnosing and analysing and repairing of failures down to component level
  • Working with oscilloscope, multimeter, signal generators, and spectrum analysers, RCD testers etc
  • Tracing root cause of a failure, and implementing changes to ensure future product quality
  • Reverse engineering of old products
  • Completion of test reports and documents
  • Working with the production team rectifying failure on new products
  • Working across many different products and technologies
  • Functional testing of control systems
The person
  • Good understanding of digital & analogue electronics including microcontrollers.
  • Must be able to diagnose faults using oscilloscope, multimeter etc.
  • At least 2 years experience of component level electronic repairs (preferred)
  • Good soldering skills including SMT.
  • Ability to reverse engineer PCBs etc. when no information is available.
  • Attention to ESD handling
  • Must be happy to work in an industrial environment, under machinery and getting your hands dirty at times.
