Join Lancaster City Council as an Electrician and play a vital role in maintaining the safety and functionality of our community’s public buildings, markets, and cemeteries. Your expertise will ensure electrical systems are safe, reliable, and compliant, directly supporting the wellbeing of residents and visitors alike.
You will independently carry out diagnostic, installation, and maintenance work on council properties, following strict health and safety standards. Your role includes managing stock and vehicle use, working alongside in-house teams and subcontractors, and providing excellent customer service. You’ll also perform Portable Appliance Testing (PAT), quality control inspections, and contribute to emergency out-of-hours support.
You hold essential electrical qualifications such as City & Guilds Level 3 and have relevant maintenance experience. You are methodical, safety-conscious, and able to work independently while embracing teamwork. A full UK driving licence and DBS clearance are required for this role.
