Job summary

A globally recognized engineering firm is seeking an Electrical Fitter to assemble control panels and switchboards according to electrical schematics. The ideal candidate will have a Level 2 qualification in electrical fitting and experience in low-voltage switchboard assembly. Responsibilities include fault diagnosis, electrical testing, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. Qualifications

  • Qualified to at least Level 2 in electrical fitting, ideally via an apprenticeship.
  • Previous experience in LV switchboard or panel assembly in an industrial or marine environment.
  • Able to read and work from electrical wiring diagrams and schematics.
  • Demonstrate strong manual skills and attention to detail.
  • Working towards 17th or 18th Edition wiring regulations certification; IPC/testing certifications desirable.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assemble electrical control panels and switchboards using electrical schematics and build instructions.
  • Install components, copper bus‑bars, power and control wiring in accordance with 17th/18th Edition IEE regulations.
  • Perform fault diagnosis, electrical testing, and repairs to ensure safety and functionality.
  • Use calibrated tooling, torque wrenches, and crimp tools to carry out high‑precision, low‑voltage electrical builds.
Qualifications
  • Be qualified to at least Level 2 in electrical fitting, ideally through a recognised apprenticeship.
  • Have previous experience in LV switchboard or panel assembly within an industrial or marine environment.
  • Be able to read and work from electrical wiring diagrams and schematics.
  • Demonstrate strong manual skills, attention to detail, and electrical safety awareness.
  • Hold (or be working toward) 17th or 18th Edition wiring regulations certification. IPC or testing certifications are desirable.
