At South East Water, we provide an essential service, and our production sites are the heart of that operation. This isn't just another maintenance job; it’s a chance to take ownership of complex electrical systems across our pumping stations, reservoirs, and treatment works.

We are particularly keen to hear from those with industrial experience—we need people who understand the scale and pace of the maintaining our sites. Whether you are a seasoned pro looking for a better work life balance, or rising talent eager to apply your industrial knowledge to vital infrastructure, you’ll find a supportive environment here.

You’ll be the go to person for keeping our water flowing, maintaining everything from control panels to high capacity industrial pumps. It’s challenging, varied, and vital work where no two days are the same. This will involve maintaining and installing electrical systems and equipment such as control panels, pumps, motors, water quality analysers, and chemical dosing equipment. Additionally, this role will respond to breakdowns, oversee the work of contractors, and perform necessary repairs and enhancements.

Main responsibilities
  • Repair, maintain and install Electrical plant and water treatment related equipment including several types of control panels, pumps, motors, chemical dosing equipment and water quality analysers to ensure the reliable and efficient operation of our production works and operational sites.
  • Collaborate with other members of the Production team with Confined Space Entries.
  • Liaise, supervise and work with contractors while they undertake works on sites.
  • Accurate recording keeping linked to reactive and planned maintenance work.
  • Ensure business systems and work management systems are kept up to date.
  • Help to complete administration (e.g., timesheets, health and safety forms, vehicle record sheets etc.)
  • Help to monitor and maintain security of production site.
  • Update and maintain site operating manuals.
  • Issue Permits to Work where required.
  • Contribute and assist with engineering capital works as and when required.
  • Adhere to all Health & Safety legislation, company policies and Production “Standard Operating Procedures” (SOP)
  • Take part in a Standby rota to provide out of hours support to the operational area.
You’ll need
  • You are electrically qualified to at least Level 3 NVQ Diploma or equivalent (e.g. HNC, apprenticeship etc).
  • Previous experience within an industrial, commercial or domestic position.
  • Ability to fault find and problem-solving electrical equipment.
  • Highly organised individual with the ability to work under your own direction.
  • Confident using IT and computers to be able to update records and reports.
  • A valid driving licence is essential.

Employees are required to be flexible and to be prepared to perform duties and other tasks within their capabilities. The nature of our business is such that the contents of any job profile are subject to change from time to time.

We want to be the water company people want to be supplied by and want to work for.
