Job description

Job Title: Electrical Engineer

Location: Doncaster

Workchain is currently seeking a skilled Electrical Engineer to join our client based in Doncaster, DN5 on a permanent basis. We are seeking a reliable and experienced Electrical Engineer who has experience of electrical repairs and servicing within a manufacturing or production environment. Immediate interviews and starts are available.

Key Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with Health & Safety regulations are met at all times.
  • Work closely with department managers and contractors to resolve issues efficiently.
  • Maintain tools, supplies and accurate service records while working under Health & Safety guidelines.
  • Liaise with the Shift Team Leader to ensure the efficient running of the factory and associated processes.
  • Understand all factory operations, including steam raising plant, odour control and effluent treatment plant.
  • Monitor all electrical equipment to ensure efficient operation.
  • Carry out breakdown repairs to factory equipment in a timely manner.
  • Provide assistance to other shift members, when requested by the Shift Team Leader or Site Management.
  • Carry out site electrical installations and upgrade work as designated by the Electrical Team Leader.
  • Perform routine electrical or mechanical maintenance according to planned maintenance schedules.
  • Be on call for a proportion of the time.
Key Experience
  • Strong fault‑finding and problem‑solving skills within a mechanical and electrical capacity.
  • Extensive electrical experience working in a continuous process environment.
  • Experience of handling electrical maintenance and breakdowns.
  • Proven experience with fault finding.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and solve process problems.
  • Familiar with general factory maintenance practices.
  • Conversant with basic PLC logic and inverter drives.
  • Basic mechanical skills.
  • Experience of plant operations.
  • Self‑motivated and able to work on your own or as part of a team.
Qualifications
  • Candidates will hold a City & Guilds or MVQ / BTEC in Electrical Maintenance / Installation.

Hours of work are a continental shift pattern: 2 days on 6.00 am to 6.00 pm, 2 nights on 6.00 pm to 6.00 am, and 4 days off rotating.
