Electrical Maintenance Engineer - Midsomer Norton

Salary: £37,000 – £42,000 DOE | Overtime available at time & half (regular overtime available) | 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday | Double‑day shift pattern with weekly rotation | Early finishes every Friday | 34 days holiday (including Bank Holidays + Christmas shutdown) | Permanent.

Shift Pattern
  • Morning shift: Mon‑Wed 6 am‑2 pm; Thu 6 am‑1 pm; Fri 6 am‑12:30 pm.
  • Afternoon shift: Mon‑Wed 2 pm‑10 pm; Thu 1 pm‑8 pm; Fri 12:30 pm‑7 pm.
The Role

You’ll join a multi‑skilled team supporting a wide range of machines across the plant – from legacy equipment to newer automated systems.

Responsibilities
  • Electrical & mechanical reactive breakdowns
  • Planned maintenance, machine modifications & improvement projects
  • Installing, relocating and building machinery and components
  • Working from electrical drawings and diagnosing faults down to PCB/component level
  • Supporting continuous improvement across the production environment
  • Ensuring safe, high‑quality engineering work at all times
What We’re Looking For
  • A strong electrically biased engineer with experience in a fast‑paced manufacturing or industrial environment.
  • Solid knowledge of single & three‑phase systems, motors, controllers, PLC awareness.
  • Ability to read and work from circuit diagrams.
  • Strong electrical fault‑finding skills.
  • Understanding of pneumatics, bearings, belts or general mechanical systems (advantageous).
  • Excellent communication & teamwork.
  • Positive, proactive approach with strong time‑keeping.
  • Comfortable working independently or as part of a five‑person engineering team.
