We're looking for an enthusiastic Electrical Tutor to deliver engaging training at Level 3, covering both practical and theoretical elements of the electrical curriculum.

What You'll Do

In this role, you'll:

  • Plan, prepare, and deliver lessons that bring technical learning to life.
  • Teach practical and theory-based electrical topics in line with awarding body standards.
  • Assess and sign off apprentice coursework in a timely and accurate way.
  • Monitor learner progress, keeping detailed records of attendance, performance, and achievement.
  • Liaise with training officers to support apprentices with academic, pastoral, and disciplinary matters.
  • Ensure the right tools and materials are always available for teaching and workshop sessions.
  • Maintain high standards of discipline, safety, and welfare in all learning environments.
  • Provide guidance and encouragement to apprentices throughout their programme, ensuring timely completion.
  • Respond professionally to employers, learners, and stakeholders, supporting their needs and queries.
  • Keep your professional knowledge current, staying up to date with developments in the electrical industry.
  • Contribute to wider events, industry activities, and committees as required.
  • Complete all administrative work accurately and on schedule.
What You'll Bring

Essential:

  • A Level 3 (or equivalent) technical qualification in Electrical Installation.
  • GCSEs (or equivalent Level 2) in English and Maths (Grade A-C / 9-4).
  • Experience teaching electrical installation, including blended and online delivery.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of the electrical trade.
  • A teaching qualification at Level 5 (Certificate in Education or equivalent) or willingness to work towards it.
  • Confident presentation skills and solid IT knowledge.
  • Post-qualification work experience in an electrical services organisation.
  • An understanding of the Further Education sector.

Desirable:

  • A Health & Safety qualification (e.g., IOSH Managing Safely).
  • Assessor qualifications (D32, D33, A1, or TAQA).
  • Internal Verifier qualifications (D34, V1, or TAQA).
  • Knowledge of the Contracting/Building Services industry.
