Job description

Electrical Engineer

Hours: 40 hours Monday - Friday

What this job involves:

As a Multi‑Skilled Engineer Electrical Bias at JLL, you will work with our client Rolls‑Royce, designing, installing and maintaining electrical systems for a range of commercial and industrial sites. This role allows you to innovate and collaborate locally and internationally, directly impacting the comfort and efficiency of our client spaces.

Day‑to‑day responsibilities:
  • Maintain, troubleshoot and repair low‑voltage electrical systems (lighting, power distribution, fire alarm, security, emergency lighting, access control).
  • Conduct regular testing and inspection of low‑voltage systems to ensure compliance with industry standards, safety regulations and relevant codes; complete documentation and reports accurately.
  • Diagnose faults, troubleshoot and resolve issues using diagnostic tools; perform repairs and replacements as needed.
  • Execute preventive maintenance tasks to reduce downtime, increase reliability and extend equipment life; create and maintain maintenance schedules.
  • Adopt health, safety and environmental policies; comply with electrical regulations, codes and standards; report hazards or incidents promptly.
  • Collaborate with team members, contractors and clients; provide guidance to junior staff when required.
  • Maintain accurate records—maintenance logs, inspection reports, work orders, equipment inventory—keeping all documentation current.
Requirements:
  • Level 2 & 3 Certificate in Electrical Installation (or equivalent).
  • Level 1 & 2 C&G 2360 Test & Inspection (preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of HVAC, heating, and air‑conditioning systems.
  • Experience with building fabric and basic reactive repairs.
  • Understanding of health & safety obligations for maintenance activities.
  • Prepared to work out of hours when required; occasional on‑call (once every five weeks).
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Excellent communication, organisation and teamwork skills; positive can‑do attitude.
