Job description

I am looking for a Senior Electrical Design Engineer / Electrical Design Engineer / Electrical Engineer to join my client, a manufacturer of cutting-edge marine technology based in Portsmouth. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Senior Electrical Design Engineer / Electrical Engineer to play a key role in developing next-generation maritime systems. This is an onsite role based in Portsmouth. The successful Senior Electrical Design Engineer will be responsible for the system design and developing electrical system prototypes for validation and performance testing.

£50,000- £60,000 Dependent on Experience

Responsibilities:

1. System Design & Integration: Design and layout power distribution, wiring harnesses, connectors, control modules, motor control, and charging systems.
2. Prototyping & Testing: Develop electrical system prototypes for validation and performance testing.
3. Ensure all designs meet relevant industry and safety standards.
4. Work closely with testing teams to troubleshoot and resolve issues.
5. Produce detailed documentation, schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical reports.

Requirements:

1. Degree-qualified in Electrical or Mechatronics Engineering, or equivalent industry experience.
2. Proficient in electrical CAD tools (AutoCAD or equivalent).
3. Familiarity with 3D CAD systems (beneficial but not essential).
4. Skilled in simulation and analysis of electrical systems.
5. Strong understanding of relevant industry regulations and standards.
6. Experience in producing detailed design specifications for complex projects.
7. Experience in testing and commissioning of electrical systems.
