Job summary

A marine engineering firm is seeking an Electrical Engineer to design and develop electrical systems. Job description

Design and Development

• Design and develop electrical systems, schematics, and layouts using CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD).
• Create detailed electrical drawings, wiring diagrams, and system specifications.
• Select appropriate components and materials based on design requirements.

Testing and Validation

• Perform simulations, calculations, and analyses to ensure designs meet technical and regulatory standards.
• Develop and execute test plans for electrical systems and components.
• Troubleshoot design issues and provide effective solutions.

Project Management

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including mechanical, software, and manufacturing engineers.
• Prepare and present design reviews, technical documentation, and project reports.
• Manage project timelines and budgets, ensuring timely delivery of design outputs.

Compliance and Standards

• Ensure designs comply with relevant safety, quality, and environmental standards (e.g., ISO).
• Stay updated on advancements in electrical engineering technology and industry best practices.

Customer and Vendor Interaction

• Liaise with clients to understand project requirements and provide technical support.
• Work with suppliers to select components and negotiate specifications.

Any other duties assigned by the Management as and when necessary.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field.
• At least 2 years’ working experience in electrical design, preferably in the industry (e marine, automative or energy)
• Proficiency in electrical design software (e.g., AutoCAD Electrical or similar).
• Knowledge of PLCs, microcontrollers, or embedded systems is a plus.
• Familiarity with electrical codes and standards.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
