Job Title: Educational Assistant
Location: Bovington
Salary: £13.68 - £16.12 per hour (Depending on experience)
Start Date: Immediate
Contract Type: Full-time/Permanent

About the Role:

As an Educational Assistant, you will provide support to students in a range of activities, helping to remove barriers to learning and ensuring that students can participate fully in their educational experience. Working alongside teachers and other support staff, you will help to implement tailored support plans, promoting students' academic and personal development in an inclusive, supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide academic and behavioural support to students, both in and out of the classroom.
  • Assist with lesson delivery and help students with tasks, ensuring they understand and can engage with the curriculum.
  • Support students with special educational needs (SEN), adapting approaches to meet their learning styles.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff to monitor students' progress and provide feedback on their development.
  • Help to prepare learning resources and set up activities for students.
  • Maintain accurate records of students' progress and report any concerns to the appropriate staff.
  • Ensure all safeguarding protocols are followed to guarantee students' safety and well-being.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Previous experience as a teaching assistant or in an educational support role.
  • Knowledge and experience of working with students with special educational needs is highly desirable.
  • A patient, compassionate approach to working with children and young people.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage with students effectively.
  • Ability to work as part of a team, collaborating with teachers and other support staff.
  • A clear understanding of safeguarding policies and a commitment to ensuring the safety of students.
  • Relevant qualifications (such as a TA qualification or similar) would be an advantage but not essential.
  • Have an updated CV (covering the last ten years barring any unexplained gaps) and an enhanced DBS registered to the Update Service (or be willing to apply for one).
