Job summary

Responsibilities

As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting pupils' learning and development.

  • Providing focused support to an individual pupil or a small group of up to six pupils
  • Supporting the class teacher during lessons and learning activities
  • Monitoring and reporting on pupil progress and any concerns
  • Supervising pupils during non-classroom times, including trips and extracurricular activities
  • Assisting with lesson planning, classroom preparation and marking where appropriate
  • Helping to create positive relationships that encourage engagement and achievement
Qualifications and Experience

We are looking for someone who brings:

  • A strong basic education, ideally to A-level, with GCSEs (Grade C/4 or above) in English and Maths
  • Previous experience in a Teaching Assistant or similar role
  • Experience supporting pupils with SEMH needs in an educational setting
  • Confidence to take on additional responsibilities within the school (e.g. Forest School, Food Hygiene, Yoga, Lunchtime provision)
  • Good behaviour management skills
  • A commitment to professional development and continuous learning
  • Willingness to undertake an enhanced DBS check prior to starting
