Education, Schools and Inclusion covers a wide range of areas including, but not limited to, school admissions, adult learning, governor support, school improvement, fair access arrangement and special educational needs and disabilities.
The Legal Intervention Team works with schools to ensure that the parents of children who don’t attend school are challenged through a legal process. It consists of one Senior Education Enforcement Officer and three Education Enforcement Officers who work as a collective, alongside our legal team, in order to make sure that children attend school and therefore receive the education that they deserve.
The main duties of this role relate to fulfilling the Local Authority’s statutory responsibilities in relation to school attendance, child employment, performance licensing and Children Missing in Education (Track and Trace). You will work in partnership with schools/academies, Early Help and Children’s Social Care, employers and producers and attend meetings with relevant agencies, parents/carers, schools/academies when needed.
