Economic Development Team Leader (P01442)

Economic Development Team Leader – Starting salary £46,376 with progression to £49,608 through annual increments subject to satisfactory service (inclusive of outer fringe allowance). 37 hours per week (hybrid) – Permanent contract. Location: Welwyn Garden City – the heart of our vibrant office.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the delivery of the Council’s new Economic Development Strategy, identifying opportunities and building a strong project pipeline.
  • Work collaboratively with stakeholders to deliver sustainable development and create opportunities for businesses and residents alike.
  • Support businesses, forge partnerships across the public and private sectors, and drive projects that stimulate growth and innovation.
  • Ensure alignment with strategic priorities and deliver projects that drive growth, attract investment, and strengthen the local economy.
Qualifications
  • Good understanding of commercial development industry and statutory regulations around economic development.
  • Experience leading a team and working collaboratively with external partners.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills; ability to present to various audiences.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a car.
  • Ability to converse at ease with members of the public in accurate spoken English.
