Overview
An opportunity has arisen within the Engineering Design Capabilities Team for a Senior ECAD Librarian. In this specialized role, you will be the primary authority for both our Electronic and Electrical component libraries. You will ensure the integrity of our Zuken‑based design environment, managing the data that enables everything from high‑speed PCB layouts to complex electrical interconnects and cable looms. As the Senior Librarian, you will lead the transition toward a fully unified component data strategy, ensuring our engineers have the precise symbols and data attributes required for world‑class missile system design.
Responsibilities
- Expertise in Electronic Component Libraries: strong understanding of high‑speed PCB layouts, electronic interconnects, and cable looms as they relate to library development and maintenance.
- Technical Knowledge: in‑depth knowledge of electronic component footprints, electrical cabling/connectors, and defined standards.
- Problem‑Solving and Troubleshooting Skills: identify and address issues in library creation, maintenance, and data management, with a focus on continual improvement of the component library.
- Communication Skills: excellent written and verbal communication to collaborate effectively with the engineering team, cross‑functional stakeholders, and library users.
- Leadership and Mentorship: lead the transition toward a unified component data strategy, guide and support team members, provide training, and foster a collaborative environment within the ECAD library team.
- Project Management: understand principles of project management and manage multiple tasks, prioritize competing demands, and ensure successful integration of the ECAD library into missile system design.
- Collaboration on management, maintenance, and future development of Electronic and Electrical component libraries, ensuring seamless integration and high standards of design across multiple engineering systems.
Qualifications
- Experience in Electronic and Electrical component library management.
- Strong technical background in electronic design and electrical systems.
- Proven leadership experience or mentorship capability.
- Project management knowledge.
- Excellent communication and problem‑solving skills.

Salary and Work Arrangement
Salary: Circa £53,000 depending on experience.
Dynamic working: 1‑2 days per week on‑site due to workload classification.
Security clearance: British citizen or dual UK national with British citizenship.
