Job summary

A nurturing pre-school is seeking a caring and reliable Early Years Practitioner to join their friendly team. You will support children's learning and development while managing daily routines. Key responsibilities include being a key worker for children, following safeguarding measures, and contributing to high-quality care. Applicants should have a minimum Level 2 childcare qualification and a strong understanding of the EYFS. Responsibilities

  • Key worker to a small number of children.
  • Complete observations using Tapestry.
  • Maintain daily ratios and follow safeguarding procedures.
  • Contribute to daily routines including snack preparation and setting up the pre-school environment.

Overview

We are seeking a caring, kind and reliable Early Years Practitioner to join our small, warm and friendly team at Lanivet & District Under Fives. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working closely within a small team, building strong relationships with children, and getting fully involved in the day-to-day running of a busy and nurturing pre-school.

Hours

Monday – Friday
8:30am – 3:30pm
Additional hours may be available, including covering staff absences where needed.
We are open term time only (39 weeks per year).

Key Responsibilities
  • Key worker to a small number of children
  • Key worker to SEN children that will need additional support and regular meetings with early inclusion officers.
  • Complete observations using Tapestry, linking home learning WOW moments.
  • PLOD planning for induvial key children.
  • Training on vocabulary that introduces library book bags, 5 vocabulary words and introducing maths within literature.
  • Maintain daily ratios and follow safeguarding procedures
  • Contribute to daily routines, including:
    • Snack preparation
    • Nappy changing
    • Setting up the pre-school environment
    • Weekly planning
    • Supporting age- and stage-appropriate activities
  • Work collaboratively with the team to provide high-quality care and learning
Essential Requirements
  • Minimum Level 2 childcare qualification
  • Strong understanding of the EYFS
