Job description

Cove Pavilion Pre‑School is a community pre‑school housed in a Pavilion building on Cove Green in Farnborough, and has been established since 1966.

The pre‑school is open during the hours of 08:00 and 15:45 Monday to Friday, during term times. Your child may attend in a combination of ways during these times. There is a maximum attendance of 30 children at any one time. The setting offers as much flexibility of attendance as possible to assist parents around their work commitments. Times can only be available in accordance with vacancies within the setting.

Job Purpose

To provide inclusive play and learning opportunities for all the children attending the setting and to maintain a safe, stimulating, and fun environment. To take responsibility for planning and delivering an early year’s foundation stage curriculum

Main Duties and Tasks
  1. To provide a safe, caring, stimulating educational environment, indoors and outdoors always.
  2. To deliver an appropriate play based Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum that enables children to make individual progress by planning and monitoring activities.
  3. To help ensure the Preschool always meets the Ofsted requirements.
  4. To liaise with and work in partnership with outside professionals in the local area for the benefit of children and families
  5. To understand and work to the preschool’s policies and procedures, to promote the welfare and safety of children within the setting and to report any welfare or child protection concerns immediately to the Early Year Manager.
  6. To be a Key Person to a group of children and ensure their needs are reflected in the routines and curriculum of the setting. To keep up to date accurate records of development, progress and behavioural or developmental concerns.
  7. To ensure records are properly maintained e.g. daily attendance register, accident, and incident reports.
  8. To supervise the children and to protect them from dangerous and harmful situations. To provide a high level of care that will enhance the children’s general health and wellbeing.
