Job summary

A local education authority is seeking an Early Years Officer to join Beancross Primary School's ELC Class on a temporary basis, covering maternity leave until September 2026. The successful candidate will work full-time, demonstrating knowledge and experience in Early Learning and Childcare. You will promote high-quality play and learning for children, establishing positive relationships with families. A required qualification is the HNC/SVQ Level 3 in Childcare or equivalent, and registration with the Scottish Social Services Council is necessary.

Early Years Officer

Beancross Primary School, ELC Class

An opportunity has arisen for an Early Years Officer to join the team at Beancross Primary School, ELC Class on a temporary basis to cover a maternity leave.

You will have skills, knowledge and experience of all current Early Learning and Childcare provision and procedures and have a passion for promoting and delivering high quality play and learning both indoors and outdoors.

You will work as an effective team member and establish positive relationships with children and families. You will have knowledge and experience of current early learning and childcare provision and procedures.

With experience of working with children, you will have an HNC/SVQ Level 3 in Childcare or equivalent. You must be registered with or currently seeking registration with the Scottish Social Services Council (SSSC).

If you are the successful candidate, you will be required to gain/maintain PVG scheme membership.

The post is temporary, full time (37 hours, term time) until 30 th September 2026 to cover a maternity leave.
