Job description

We are looking for a level 3 (or above) nursery practitioner to join our Flowerpots Nursery team. Job-share and term time opportunities are available.

Main responsibilities are to work with the team in providing a high level of care of the children at the nursery, maximising their learning potential and working towards positive outcomes. We are looking for someone that is caring and has a passion for working in childcare. You will need to be flexible towards your working hours / days, hardworking and a team player.

The ideal candidate will have:
Education and Training
  • A relevant and recognised Level 3 or above qualification.
  • Paediatric First Aid certificate (or willingness to complete such a course within probationary period)
  • Completion of Safeguarding Awareness (or willingness to complete such a course within probationary period)
  • Basic Food Hygiene (or willingness to complete such a course within probationary period)
  • Evidence of ongoing personal development training is desirable.
Relevant Experience
  • Have practical experience of working with young children in an early years setting.
  • Experience and familiarity of EYFS
  • Experience of working in partnership with parents
Skills / Knowledge and Aptitude
  • Enthusiasm for working with young children
  • An interest in the care, learning and development of young children
  • A commitment to the provision of high quality care and education to young children
  • A positive approach to learning and gaining new skills through team-working and participation in training opportunitiesAbility to work independently using own initiative
  • Ability to record knowledgeable observations and assessments of children’s developmental progression
