A local council in Scotland seeks an individual to lead the delivery of Early Learning and Childcare, focusing on the needs of children in accordance with local and national guidelines. The role involves ensuring quality service through continuous improvement and collaboration. The successful candidate must join the PVG Scheme and provide necessary checks for working with vulnerable groups. Initially based at Portlethen Primary School Nursery, the post offers a contract of 52.18 weeks per year.
Lead the delivery of Early Learning and Childcare, which meets the needs of the individual child, using local and national policies, guidelines and procedures, through collaborative and collegiate working.
There is a responsibility for the post holder to demonstrate a commitment to quality service delivery through continuous improvement for the benefit of the Service and the organisation.
This is a Children’s Service Network (CSN) post. Initially you will be based at Portlethen Primary School Nursery, but you may be required to work elsewhere within the Portlethen CSN.
The successful candidate will be employed on a 52.18 weeks per year contract.

This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required. You will be required to provide this check. A confirmed offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre‑employment checks being deemed satisfactory.
This post will require you to have obtained SSSC registration within 3 months of employment.
This post has a minimum requirement of two references, one of which must be your current or most recent employer.
