Job description

Post Title : Early Years and Foundation Phase Teaching Assistant

Post Ref : ED50296382

Contract : Full Time, permanent

Salary : Grade 4 SCP 6‑11 (£25,989‑ £28,142) Pro Rata

Hours : 32.5 hrs per week, Term Time only (39 weeks)

Working hours: 8.30am‑3.30pm (with 30 minutes lunch break)

Responsibilities
  • supporting pupils in class under the supervision and direction of the class teacher
  • working with ALN pupils on specific targets in their IDP
  • providing general support to the teacher in the management of pupils and the classroom, including preparation, and routine maintenance of resources & equipment.

  • are passionate about the learning and well‑being of all pupils
  • are highly professional, committed and enthusiastic
  • can provide a nurturing and caring approach to vulnerable pupils
  • are able to work well as a team of adults in the classroom
  • liaise well with parents / carers
  • have well developed Literacy, Numeracy and ICT skills
  • have strong inter‑personal and communication skills
