We are looking for dual‑CCT Consultants to join an established, enthusiastic team of 12 Consultants in Intensive Care Medicine to expand our workforce and deliver service improvements.
The ICU is a 20‑bed mixed‑dependency unit admitting 1200–1400 patients per year from a range of specialties, including a regional gynaecological cancer service, maxillofacial surgery, urology and vascular surgery.
It is supported by a 16‑bed Surgical Step‑Down unit staffed by Anaesthesia, a respiratory support unit and a medical high‑dependency unit. A Critical Care Outreach Service and a dedicated team of Specialty Doctors and Associate Specialists also support the unit.
Our Consultants have interests in echocardiography, ultrasound, medico‑legal issues and high‑fidelity simulation, and the ICU has a simulation suite. The unit is accredited for advanced training in Intensive Care Medicine.
The University Hospitals of Derby and Burton NHS Foundation Trust is fully committed to promoting inclusion, equality, diversity and human rights in employment and delivery of its services.
We actively encourage applications from black, Asian and minority ethnic communities to reflect the diversity of the services we provide.
