Job description

Location: Coventry; full‑time, permanent, Monday to Friday with an early Friday finish. Salary: 38k to 42k + excellent facilities and development opportunities.

We’re looking to speak with ex‑military engineers or experienced civilian engineers who’d like to use their hands‑on technical background to train the next generation of apprentices. Whether you already deliver training or you’re an engineer interested in a career change into the training world, this role offers full support, professional development, and funded teaching qualifications. You’ll be joining a large, Armed Forces‑friendly organisation with outstanding workshops, CNC and milling suites, hydraulics/pneumatics labs and modern mechatronics equipment. It’s a professional, well‑resourced environment where your real‑world experience will make a genuine difference.

What we’re looking for
  • Mechanical or Electrical Engineering backgrounds such as:
  • Mechanical Maintenance, Fitter/Turner, Machinist (CNC, Milling, Lathe, etc.)
  • Hydraulics/Pneumatics experience (Fluid Power)
  • Mechatronics, Automation, or Electro‑Mechanical systems
  • Electrical Maintenance/Industrial Electrician (3‑phase, motors, panels, fault‑finding)
  • Plus: Experience coaching, mentoring or instructing others (formal teaching experience not required as full training and qualifications will be provided)
  • Strong communication and people skills
  • A passion for developing learners and sharing knowledge
  • Suitability for those leaving the military within 6‑12 months or already transitioned

If you want to use your engineering experience in a role with more purpose, stability, and progression, we’d love to hear from you.
