We are looking for an experienced Class 1 Driver Trainer to join our Transport division in a combined training and operational support role.

This position will be responsible for training, coaching and supporting new pass drivers across three key client hubs — Barnsley, Warrington and Rugby — ensuring drivers are fully prepared to assessment standard and confident in role before deployment.

When assessments or training are not taking place, the role will also support internal teams with resourcing and operational delivery for our clients.

The Role :

Key responsibilities include :

  • Training new pass Class 1 drivers to assessment standard.
  • Supporting drivers through initial onboarding and post-pass development.
  • Providing ongoing coaching and guidance, particularly around infringements and compliance.
  • Supporting drivers with knowledge, confidence and best practice on site.
  • Travelling between Barnsley, Warrington and Rugby hubs as required.
  • Acting as a point of support for new drivers during their early assignments.
  • Working closely with onsite and head office teams to ensure training needs are met.
  • Supporting internal recruitment teams with resourcing when training demand is low.
  • Maintaining high standards of safety, compliance and professionalism.
What We’re Looking For :
  • Valid Class 1 (C+E) licence (essential).
  • Experience training, mentoring or coaching drivers (new pass experience preferred).
  • Confident delivering hands‑on training and constructive feedback.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Flexible and happy to travel between multiple client hubs.
  • Organised, calm and supportive in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Comfortable working both independently and as part of a wider team.
  • Willing to support the resource team when there is no training taking place with the client.
Why Join Us?
  • £30k–£35k salary depending on experience
  • Private healthcare
  • 33 days annual leave (inclusive of bank holidays)
  • Varied role combining training, driver support and operational involvement
  • Opportunity to make a real impact on driver performance and retention
  • Work closely with a national transport division and senior leadership
