Architectural Metalwork Draughtsperson / CAD Designer – Advance Steel / Tekla

Full-Time | Great Dunmow (CM6) | £40–50k + Benefits

For nearly 30 years, Alloy Fabweld has been at the forefront of architectural metalwork, delivering staircases, balustrades, canopies, and bespoke features for landmark projects across the UK. As we approach our 30th anniversary in 2026, we’re seeking an experienced Draughtsperson to join our technical team and help shape the next chapter of our success story.

What You’ll Do
  • Produce accurate 3D CAD models for staircases, balustrades, canopies, cladding, and bespoke features.
  • Interpret architectural and structural drawings to deliver fabrication-ready designs.
  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and production teams to resolve technical challenges.
  • Revise models based on stakeholder and client feedback to ensure precision.
  • Maintain drawing registers and manage documentation with version control.
  • Provide technical support to production teams and clarify design details.
  • Contribute to design coordination meetings and continuous improvement initiatives.
What We’re Looking For
  • A draughtsperson with substantive experience in architectural metalwork design and fabrication.
  • Proven ability to deliver fabrication-ready designs for bespoke metalwork projects.
  • Strong proficiency in Advance Steel (preferred) or Tekla Structures — transferable skills welcome.
  • Solid understanding of fabrication principles and tolerances.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
  • A detail‑driven mindset with commitment to quality and safety.
